Isn't it so fun to pretend like you're an adult when you're a kid? I remember playing hospital and grocery store, and I loved doing Barbie fashion shows. I have especially loved office supplies and stamps. Even today, I can go to the mall without a list and control myself, but when it comes to Staples or Office Depot, I throw sticking to a list out the window. There's just something about stamping stuff that feels SO official.
I have a student that comes to visit me in our studio, and he discovered my multipurpose office stamp. One I'd the words it stamps is "COMPLETED", and he acts like it's the greatest toy he's ever seen. He started using it to keep track of the homework that he's done, and now he's addicted.
For a 10 year old, working through a to do list and stamping paper have come together into a wonderful process we call "getting homework done like an adult". He loves it, I love it, and his mom loves it. Does life get any better than that?
